She also leaves behind six great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her sister, Alice Johnson, and in-laws Ruth Forbes, Bob and Edna Kibbe, and Sharyn Kibbe.
Gone before her are her parents: Alfred and Jerusha (King) Main, and sisters, Betty Horton, Joyce Eklund, and Shirley Segerlin.
Dorothy was the youngest of five daughters born to Alfred and Jerusha King Main on June 15, 1937. At the age of 8 she and her family moved from Charlotte Center to Falconer, where she graduated from Falconer High School in 1954. After her graduation she worked at the former Proto Tool Co. as a secretary for 5 years, leaving in 1959.
She married Knute A. Kibbe on June 22, 1957 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Falconer, where she attended until moving to Gerry in 1960. It was there that they raised their three children.
Dorothy was an active member of Gerry Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years, sang in the choir, and attended the Quilters and Crafters group, Book Club, and worked on many of their harvest dinners. For the past several years she was the Communion Steward and in charge of the altar colors.
She enjoyed “Sister Days” and family get-togethers, reading, dancing, and playing with her grandchildren.
